Maryland is fortunate to have two long distance events (events that are greater than 30 kilometers). They are:
C&O Canal Towpath, the Towpath is 300 kilometers long and goes from Georgetown in Washington DC to Cumberland, MD.
Appalachian Trail in Maryland, the Appalachian Trail in Maryland is 41 kilometers long and goes from Harpers Ferry, WVA to Pen Mar, PA.
